Young Onset Dementia Podcast

In October the Derbyshire Dementia Co-production Group decided to produce a podcast interview with a younger couple living with Dementia.

Toni & Nigel live in Chesterfield and have consented to share their story about going through the diagnosis process, accessing local services and support and tips for others living with young onset dementia.

Young onset dementia (YOD) presents unique challenges for individuals and their families, often differing from those faced by older individuals with dementia. These challenges can include maintaining employment, managing finances, and navigating complex social and emotional situations while raising children or caring for aging parents.

Therefore, people with young onset will need different support and information related to their circumstances and this is why in Derbyshire we have identified this as a key area.
